How should we prepare our building site?
Choose a site that is as level as possible. We recommend using 4” of gravel or have 12”x12”x2” patio blocks to set under the runners at the time of delivery. Our transport team will shim the building to make it as level as possible. We can also refer you to someone who does ground prep, gravel pads and cement slabs.
Can we paint or stain the building?
Yes. You can paint over the Urethane on our LP sided buildings using 100% Acrylic paint. For our Treated lumber siding, we recommend waiting 1-2 years before painting or re-staining as they are sprayed with an oil-based UV protective sealer in the Honey Gold color by Pittsburgh Paint.
Can we make any modifications to the building?
Yes. Customizing the placement of doors and windows is possible to have the building suit your needs. Please see our brochure for all customizable options.
Can we supply our own shingles?
Yes. But you must deliver them to our production facility.
Do we need a permit?
Maybe. Permit requirements vary by municipality, so check with your local government for zoning rules and permit requirements. Our buildings are classified as minor storage facilities/accessory buildings/occupancy category 1. They are not intended for any other use.
Do you have a payment plan?
We suggest you visit your local Credit Union or Bank. We accept Master Card & Visa for the 10% down payment at no fee, and the full purchase price for a small fee. Ask for details.

Will someone come to my site if I have concerns about getting the building in the desired location and to take my order?
Yes. Arrangements can be made for a site consultation. Our delivery crew uses special machinery to maneuver buildings into tight spaces. (see picture gallery) We hope this has answered many of your questions. We realize this is a major purchase and it would be our pleasure to spend as much time as necessary to make sure you get your building just the way you want it.
Not building kits
Your building is delivered fully constructed and ready for use. We can deliver and place your building in tight areas using our specialized equipment (see picture gallery for examples).
Buildings take 3 to 6 weeks to be constructed and delivered. We will sell display models directly off our lots. Your building may be delivered sooner if another building has been sold close to your location.
Delivery is free up to 50 miles from your closest North Star sales location. You may qualify for free delivery even if you are more than 50 miles from the lot where you got your brochure. Ask us to calculate delivery fees if any.

ROOF - You have a choice between a shingled or metal roof for the same price. Shingles are available in a variety of colors. See certainteed.com Landmark Line for all color options.

The ordering process is convenient as 95% of orders are placed over the phone. A down payment of 10% is required at the time of the order by means of check, MasterCard or Visa. The balance due is paid upon delivery to our transport driver.
